What Is A Wedding Vendor?

A wedding vendor is any business that provides something for a wedding. If a couple would book you, hire you, or buy from you for their big day, then you are a wedding vendor.

The word itself trips some people up. “Vendor” can sound like a market seller, so business owners sometimes assume it is not meant for them. Here it means something simpler and broader: a business that helps make a wedding happen. You might also hear people say “wedding business” or “service provider” for the same thing. They all point to the same idea. We just use “vendor” because it is short and clear.

It covers far more than most people expect. Photographers and videographers, gardens and other venues, caterers and cake bakers, decorators, makeup artists, MCs, DJs and sound teams, bridal wear and kanzu or suit tailors, car hire, ushers, security, and drinks and bar services are all vendors. So are the many businesses in between.

You do not need a big company or an office to count. Whether you run a wedding gardens, bake cakes from your kitchen, do makeup at people’s homes, or hire out a sound system on weekends, you belong here.

If you are still unsure, have a look at the categories on the Find A Vendor page. If you see something close to what you do, you are in the right place, and you can start with a free listing.
