When a paid subscription expires, your listing is unpublished. It stops appearing to couples and stops showing in search results.
It is not deleted. Here is exactly what happens.
For 12 months after expiry, everything is kept. Your photos, your description, your contact details and your settings all stay on our servers. During that time you can renew at any moment by logging in and buying a new subscription, and your listing is republished automatically as soon as the payment goes through. You do not rebuild anything. We also send you reminders while the listing is sitting unpublished.
You can download your content from your dashboard during those 12 months. Worth doing anyway, since your photos should live somewhere other than a website.
After 12 months unpublished, the listing is permanently deleted. Content, images and associated data, gone and not recoverable. We warn you by email before that point, to the address on your account, which is one reason to keep that address current. If you come back after that, you start a new listing from scratch.
Your account is not affected. It stays active throughout. You can log in, manage settings, create new listings and renew whenever you want. Losing a subscription never costs you your login.
Free listings do not expire. Single Free stays published indefinitely unless you unpublish or delete it.
The simplest way to avoid all of this is to renew before your end date, or move to a quarterly package so there are fewer dates to remember. See do I need to renew and the package options.
